Responsibilities of the City Clerk include:
- Providing clerical support to the City Council
- Administering oaths of office to newly elected officials
- Keeping and maintaining all election records
- Issuing and maintaining business licenses and liquor licenses
- Maintaining all legal notices and documents required by law or ordinance
- Preparing, filing, and safekeeping all proceedings of City Council meetings
- Custodian of Records in accordance with the Records Retention Manual of the Missouri Secretary of State
- Recording all ordinances and resolutions
- Preparing proclamations
