Important Information about Licensing and eTRAKiT
- If you had a business license in 2024 or before, your old business license number did not carry over. After your first license is issued in eTRAKiT, you'll have a license number that will carry over year after year.
- Businesses exempt from municipal licensing by state statute are longer required to have a city license. This includes, but is not limited to - Church; Lawyer; CPA; Dentist; Doctor; Assisted Living Facility; Credit Union. Exempt businesses are still required to comply with all city and state regulations, codes, inspections, etc. If you questions about state statue exemptions, please email cityclerk@belton.org. (RSMo 71.620; 71.630; 198.006; 198.018; 148.620; 345.055; 324.1114)
- If you need a business license and permit, you can apply for each through your Dashboard. Separate payments are required for licenses and permits as they are processed separately by different departments.
- License fees will be assessed after the submitted application is reviewed and all attachments and inspections (as required) are completed. Be sure to upload all required attachments. These may include Missouri SOS registration, Missouri DOR No Tax Due certificate, state licenses, and Certificate of Insurance. Fees will not be accepted for incomplete applications.
