“U.S. Kids Golf Kansas City is grateful to Eagle’s Landing for always allowing us to host our tournaments here,” said Todd Misemer, director of the local youth golf organization. “Eagle’s Landing is a great course for juniors to play on. Many families come out the day before the tournament to practice.”

The U.S. Kids Golf organization strives to replicate PGA tours by encouraging players at events to have caddies to help them play their best. Allowing caddies is a special component of these tournaments and is part of a commitment to encourage family interaction to build lasting memories.

“U.S. Kids Golf organization is very family oriented,” says Misemer. “Parents generally caddie for their child; we joke with the players that they get to be the boss for the day.”

Seven tournaments were held this spring all leading up to the tour championship. Local Tours provide players the opportunity to qualify for U.S. Kids Golf multi-day events, state invitationals, regional invitationals, international championships and U.S. Kids Golf World Championships.

“The hope is that players involved in this program naturally advance to playing golf in high school, college and beyond,” says Jay Kennedy, manager of Eagle’s Landing. “This program teaches young golfers about this great sport, sportsmanship and gives select players the opportunity to be awarded college scholarships.”
