Filing for Candidacy for the April 2, 2024 Municipal Election

Filing for seats on the Belton City Council for the annual City election, Tuesday, April 2, 2024, opens Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 8:00 A.M. and closes Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at 5:00 P.M. in accordance with Section 115.127.5, RSMo, as amended.
At said election there shall be elected:
- One (1) member of the City Council of Ward 1 for the full term of three (3) years.
- One (1) member of the City Council in Ward 1 for a term of one (1) year.
- One (1) member of the City Council of Ward 2 for the full term of three (3) years.
- One (1) member of the City Council of Ward 3 for the full term of three (3) years.
- One (1) member of the City Council of Ward 4 for the full term of three (3) years.
Filing may be recorded with the City Clerk at Belton City Hall Annex, 520 Main Street, Belton, MO, during normal business hours from 8:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. There is a $25.00 non-refundable filing fee (cash or check). City offices will be closed December 25, 2023, for the holiday. Candidates will appear on the ballot in the order they have filed.
