BELTON'S COMPREHENSIVE PLAN CHARTS THE COURSE FOR COMMUNITY GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT

[DATE] — The City of Belton needs your help as we embark on an ambitious journey to shape our future with the launch of the Belton Comprehensive Plan update.

Once completed, the Comprehensive Plan will serve as a roadmap to guide growth and development in the community for the next two decades. This plan is critical in fostering a vibrant, sustainable, and inclusive future for all of our residents.

At the heart of the Belton Comprehensive Plan process are two critical components: an in-depth analysis of existing conditions and an inclusive community vision crafted through public engagement. Together, these elements will form the foundation upon which the future of Belton will be built.

Our goal is that all voices in the community are heard through this process and all ideas shared, no matter how big or small they may be," Community Development Director Matt Wright said. "Belton prides itself on being a growing community, while still maintaining a small town feel. We want the community to help us identify how we can grow and continue to make quality of life enhancements while maintaining the character that made them choose Belton as a place to live, open a business, or visit."

The first phase, currently underway, involves an exhaustive examination of Belton's current state, identifying strengths, challenges, and opportunities. This analysis will provide a solid understanding of where the community stands today.

Phase 2, Public & Stakeholder Engagement, is set to be a dynamic and inclusive phase, encouraging community members and stakeholders to actively participate in shaping Belton's future. Various in-person and online engagement activities have been planned to ensure every voice is heard.

In the coming months and through 2024, the City will have many different opportunities for residents to provide input, review the plan through upcoming phases and ultimately shape the future of our community.
