The City of Belton is looking for residents who have a passion for art and want to serve on the City’s Public Art Commission, an initiative aimed at fostering a vibrant and creative cultural scene within our community. Whether you are a local artist, or just enjoy music, theater, visual arts or other creative outlets, your participation will contribute to the growth and enrichment of Belton's cultural landscape.

The Belton Arts Commission plays a pivotal role in promoting and supporting various forms of artistic expression, including visual arts, performing arts, and community-based cultural activities. The council serves as a platform for collaboration between local artists, art enthusiasts, and the broader community, aiming to enhance Belton's reputation as a hub for creativity and cultural engagement.

How to Apply:

Citizens interested in contributing their time, skills, and passion to the Belton Arts Commission  are encouraged to submit their applications. The application form can be found by clicking here. The City of Belton welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and encourages both artists and non-artists (but are interested in public art) to apply.

Assistant City Manager Mike Ekey expressed enthusiasm about the formation of the Public Arts Commission, stating, “Art is one of the best ways to bring people together to support the community. Whether you are taking a class taught by a local painter or watching a local musician play in the park, connecting with our neighbors through the arts can be incredibly rewarding and fun.”

The City of Belton looks forward to the dynamic contributions of its residents as they come together to celebrate and promote the arts in our community.
