The Community Video Partnership allows residents and businesses to register security cameras that capture public areas such as streets, sidewalks and parking lots. Registration helps the police department identify cameras that may have captured information related to a crime.
Registration is free, and the Belton Police Department does not receive direct access to registered camera systems. If footage may be relevant to an investigation, an officer may contact the camera owner and request to review or obtain a copy of the footage.
