Planning Commission

Public hearings give applicants, residents, and other interested parties the opportunity to review project applications and provide comments to staff and the designated Board/Commission reviewing the application. A public hearing is required to be held by the Planning Commission for the following applications: rezoning, special use permit, preliminary development plan, and vacation. A public hearing is required to be held by the Board of Zoning Adjustment for applications for variances. Meeting agendas for Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Adjustment will indicate if an application will have a public hearing and the order of the public hearing on the agenda.

Upcoming public hearings include the following applications:  

Tuesday, September 3, 2024 Planning Commission meeting (6:00 PM, 520 Main St. - City Hall Annex)

  • An application submitted by the City of Belton, to request approval of the Vacation of right-of-way and utility easements on property located at the southwest corner of I-49 and E. North Ave. (58 Hwy.). (This application was continued from the August 6, 2024 and August 20, 2024 Planning Commission meetings).

 

Future Public Hearing - 

  • An application submitted by Community Development staff for the formal presentation and consideration of the adoption of the 2050 Belton Comprehensive Plan.  (A new public hearing notice will be published once the hearing date has been finalized).

  • Markey Business Park Sub Area - Community Engagement Opportunity - an interactive workshop to review and discuss the Markey Business Park Sub Area, located north and west of the Cherry Hill neighborhood.
