Interested in hosting an event and closing city streets? A permit is required to close city streets. There are two types of event permits.
1. Public Event like a festival, fair, or arts/crafts show. Typically on Belton Main Street.
Public events are defined as a temporary gathering that may use either public or private property. This includes residential streets as well as commercial areas and rights-of-way (ROW). An Event Permit is required.
An application for an event permit should be filed not less than 60 days before the date on which it is proposed to conduct the event. Applications will be processed in the order they are received. The MOU will be provided by staff.
2. Social gathering for the neighborhood.
Block parties are defined as a neighborhood social gathering that temporarily closes a residential street to create a shared space for residents to gather, connect, and build community. A Block Party Permit is required.
An application for a Block Party Permit should be filed not less than 45 days before the date on which it is proposed to conduct the event.
