DECEMBER 21, 2022
Weather reports for our area show a trickle of snow, temperatures diving, and wind picking up around midnight tonight. By 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 22, snow will increase in intensity, wind will be around 25-30 MPH, and temperatures will be near or at 0 degrees Fahrenheit. If you have to drive in the storm, please be mindful of the blowing snow and low visibility. Slow down, and take extra caution.
At this time with the forecasted subzero temperatures, we believe salt will be ineffective in the treatment for melting any snow and that it will only cause refreeze and ice pack on the roads by daylight.
Public Works Crews will report in at midnight Wednesday night and plow snow as it may or may not accumulate. Both shifts, day and overnight, will continue to work throughout the storm to keep roads passable. When possible, please park your vehicles off the street so that snowplows can be most effective.
