Road Closures in Old Town for Railroad Work

A message from the Belton, Grandview and Kansas City Railroad Co.: “Musselman and Hall Contractors are putting in ties and completing asphalt work on the surfaces of Cherry Street, Chestnut Street and Walnut Street crossings. Repairs will ONLY be in the immediate vicinity of each track at these crossings.

The plan is for work to start on Cherry Street and Chestnut Street, Wednesday, June 8 at 8 a.m. Chestnut Street will be closed all day Wednesday, June 8. Cherry Street will be closed Wednesday, June 8 and Thursday, June 9.

Work will start on Walnut Street on Thursday, June 9 at 8 a.m. or as soon as Chestnut Street is reopened. Chestnut Street and Walnut Street will not be closed at the same time, due to the obstruction to emergency response time.
