Olson Acres Sanitary Sewer Project
The City of Belton is partnering with Cass County Waste Management to build a new lift station at 18702 S. Garden Ave. This new facility will take the place of the current wastewater lagoon that serves the Olson Acres Subdivision.
Once the new lift station and underground pipe (called a force main) are in place, wastewater from nearby homes will be safely pumped to the East Creek Interceptor, which carries it on to the wastewater treatment facility. This modern system will improve wastewater handling, reduce maintenance needs and better protect local waterways.
After the lagoon is taken out of service, it will be carefully drained, cleaned and restored. The area will be regraded and replanted to return it to a more natural streamway setting. Existing sewer lines will also be updated and reconnected to the new system to ensure smooth service for residents.
The new lift station will be owned and maintained by the City of Belton under an agreement with Cass County Waste Management.
Funding for this project is provided through the Missouri Department of Natural Resources' State Revolving Loan Fund program.
