Seek appropriate medical attention and report the bite to Animal Control as soon as possible. Animal Control may investigate the incident to determine whether a rabies quarantine is necessary.

Residents are responsible for keeping their pets' rabies vaccinations current. Dogs and cats over four months of age within city limits must be vaccinated against rabies within the past 12 months and have a receipt and tag issued by a licensed veterinarian. The rabies tag must be worn at all times.

Animal Control will collect and properly dispose of deceased animals found on City property. Animal Control does not collect deceased wildlife from private property.

The Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) Program is a humane approach to managing stray cat populations. Cats are humanely trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated and returned to their outdoor environment. The program helps reduce new litters while improving the overall health and well-being of the stray cat population.

Owner surrenders are accepted only under emergency circumstances. These circumstances may include incarceration, eviction or the death of the animal's owner.

If your pet is lost:

• Report your missing pet to Animal Control.
• Check local animal shelters.
• Make sure your pet's microchip information is current.
• Check your neighborhood.
• Check local social media lost-and-found groups and post information about your missing pet.

No. The City does not have breed restrictions or ordinances requiring residents to register their dogs at this time.

Yes. Dogs must be kept on a leash when off their owner's property unless they are in a vehicle, crate or carrier.
