The Hargis Lake Stormwater Improvements Project is a Priority 1 project due to residential complaints regarding stormwater and street flooding, sanitary sewer backups, and erosion. The storm sewer main line is significantly undersized throughout most of the system and a significant amount of bypass flow from upper portions of the watershed accumulates and flows through this area.
The City Council approved a Professional Services Agreement with Olsson on August 13, 2019 in the amount of $39,760.00 for conceptual design development of stormwater improvements. The first phase of this project includes survey and data collection, public involvement, and development of three concept design alternatives with opinions of cost. Based on this data, a preferred alternative will be selected, and Olsson will subsequently submit an agreement for design. The project limits are bound by Highway 58 (North Avenue) to the south, Airway Lane to the north, Westover Road to the west, and Park Drive to the east.
