The development process typically begins by scheduling a meeting with DRC. The committee ensures efficient coordination of development services through the effective use of staff time, consistent technical interpretation, and quality decision-making, which is essential to the success of a project.

Setting up a Meeting
The Development Review Committee (DRC) meets weekly on Wednesday's between 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. as meetings are requested. Meetings are held in the Belton City Hall Annex at 520 Main Street, Belton, Missouri.
A DRC Pre- Application Questionnaire along with any supporting documentation is required to be turned in Thursday by 2:00 p.m., prior to the Wednesday you wish to meet. Following the submittal of the DRC Pre-Application Questionnaire and supporting documentation, an appointment time will be confirmed.

The DRC is comprised of a cross section of the city’s key staff members who deal with development issues on a daily basis. It generally involves four city departments:
