The City of Belton is accepting applications to be considered for the position of a full-time Economic Development & Communications Specialist. This person will serve under general supervision and is responsible for performing a variety of administrative support work, marketing communications, and digital content for the economic development initiatives of the City in the Economic Development Department with the ability to adjust workload to balance priority interruptions. A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field is highly desirable; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. High School Diploma/GED supplemented by college coursework or completion of certificate program in Office Management, Administrative Support, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or related field and two years of experience providing the full range of administrative support functions for a department director. A physical and drug test are required upon selection.
Salary range begins at $45,811 per year, with a competitive benefit package. Hours are generally 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, but some work may involve occasional evening meetings and appointments.
