Improving the culvert at Allen Ave and 161st Street was one of the priority projects to be completed with the General Obligation (GO) bonds. The previously existing 48-inch corrugated metal pipe was undersized and in bad condition. With this project, a new 5'x12' reinforced concrete box culvert was installed to increase capacity and improve drainage under the roadway.
The City of Belton partnered with NorthPoint Development to split the cost of this project. The City's portion of the funds came from the GO Bonds that were approved by voters in April 2019.
