The development process typically begins by scheduling a meeting with DRC. The committee ensures efficient coordination of development services through the effective use of staff time, consistent technical interpretation, and quality decision-making, which is essential to the success of a project.

The Development Review Committee (DRC) meets weekly on Wednesday's between 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. as meetings are requested. Meetings are held in the Belton City Hall Annex at 520 Main Street, Belton, Missouri.
A DRC Pre- Application Questionnaire(PDF, 86KB) along with any supporting documentation is required to be turned in Thursday by 2:00 p.m., prior to the Wednesday you wish to meet. Following the submittal of the DRC Pre Application Questionnaire(PDF, 86KB) and supporting documentation, an appointment time will be confirmed.

The Development Review Committee is comprised of a cross section of the city’s key staff members who deal with development issues on a daily basis. It generally involves four city departments:
