Untreated stormwater runoff is a major source of pollution in urbanized areas. The City uses requirements set forth in the Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit to develop and maintain a Stormwater Management Program Plan (SWMP). This Plan considers individual, household, and public behaviors and activities that can generate pollution within the City.

The City is renewing its MS4 Permit in April 2021. As a part of the Public Participation Requirement, the City will hold a public information meeting to provide information on the proposed SWMP and have a review period for the public to review and comment on the draft permit and SWMP.

On March 22nd, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. the Public Works Department will deliver a presentation regarding the SWMP to attending members of the public. Visit https://www.belton.org/watch to view the presentation.
