Please read carefully. Pursuant to Ordinance No. 2016-4556, and Ordinance No. 2016-4557, amendments to Chapter 19 of the Belton Code of Ordinances, Chapter 34 of the Unified Development, and the Schedule of Fees and Charges have been approved by the City Council and effect all right-of-way permitting.
Right-of-way is owned by the public for the purposes of constructing,
operating, and maintaining public facilities such as streets, alleys,
sidewalks and bike paths in some cases, utilities, and other public
Right-of-way extends to the property lines, which are typically 11-16 feet behind the curb or edge of pavement.
Permits are required for all
work within the right-of-way, including temporary traffic control, except as provided in Sec. 19-140. Replacement of driveways, plumbing repairs or installation of a sprinkler system in the right-of-way does require a right-of-way permit.
Contractors must provide a certificate of insurance and a surety bond.
