Design and Construction Manual
All improvements to public infrastructure shall be in accordance with the standard specifications, design criteria, and standard details provided in the City's Design and Construction Manual. The Design and Construction Manual consists of three major parts:
1) Standard Details
2) Standard Specifications
3) Design Criteria
This manual was adopted to regulate the construction of public infrastructure improvements within the City, including the design and construction of water lines, sanitary sewers, storm sewers and streets. The City's Design and Construction Manual includes Kansas City Metropolitan Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA) specifications, the City's supplemental specifications to APWA, and certain original City specifications.
This document may require revisions, and therefore it is recommended that this page be consulted frequently. The user should verify that all documents previously downloaded from this page are current before relying on them.
