Section 3.2. Composition; Qualifications; Election and Terms.
A City Council member shall have been a resident of the city for two years next preceding election and a qualified voter and shall remain a resident of his or her ward and a qualified voter. A City Council member shall have been a resident of his or her respective ward for six months next preceding election.
(c) Election and Terms.
City Council members shall be elected to serve staggered three-year terms as provided by Section 17.2(b), Election of City Officials; City Council. At each regular municipal election, City Council members shall be elected to fill the offices of those whose terms expire.
